ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Virginia Housing has collaborated with Habitat for Humanity and awarded over $1 million in grants for local communities across the Commonwealth. $1.2M in competitive grant funds to revitalize communities in Virginia is being divided up between 5 locations in Virginia. 'The Virginia House' gave Habitat-Roanoke $325K to build a home in the Belmont-Fallon community located in Southeast Roanoke. 'We are honored to be one of the five recipients of the Virginia House grant,' said Karen Mason, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley.
